Title insurance giant First American Financial Corp., Santa Ana, Calif., Friday named Max O. Valdes chief financial officer, and Mark E. Seaton senior vice president of finance.

Valdes has been with the company for more than 22 years. He was promoted from his position as senior vice president and chief accounting officer. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Seaton, who joined First American in 2006, will lead the company's treasury, finance, investment management and investor relations activities. Prior to joining First American, he worked for BancBoston Capital, a private equity firm in Boston.
First American is publicly traded. It is both a title firm and settlement services provider.
