A former managing director and head of European residential mortgage- and asset-backed securities at Morgan Stanley is filling a somewhat similar role at Jefferies.

Jefferies has named James P. Fadel, who also at one time served as a vice president for MBS at Citigroup, as a managing director and head of European structured debt capital markets in London.
The move is part of ongoing efforts by Jefferies, which has an international distribution platform, to leverage it more effectively and increase its presence in the European market.
