MetLife Bank has hired former Bear Stearns and Ohio Savings executive Jess Lederman as a top executive in its residential correspondent lending division, according to mortgage officials who received a notification from the industry veteran.
At press time Lederman and a spokesman for MetLife Bank could not be reached for comment.
One mortgage banker who is a member of Lederman's LinkedIn network said he found out about the hiring that way. It appears that Lederman joined MetLife some time this month.
In the summer Lederman became president of Great Western, a mortgage affiliate of Frontier Bank FSB, Park City, Utah. Prior to that he was a top mortgage executive at Kinecta Federal Credit Union in California.
Lederman helped pioneer the MBS market back in the 1980s when he was at Bear Stearns & Co. He also worked at Ohio Savings for many years, heading up its correspondent mortgage program.
