Joseph D’Urso is the new president at Green River Capital, a real estate owned asset management and loss mitigation provider for mortgage servicers, investment firms and banks based in West Valley City, Utah.
Christopher West, who had held both the president and chief executive titles, remains as CEO. In a statement, West said that as the company expands, he needed to be focused on managing Green River Capital's "overall vision."
Previously, D’Urso was CEO of GC Mortgage Advisors LLC, which provides advice and consulting services to financial institutions in various areas of the mortgage business. Before that, he headed the residential loan businesses at Merrill Lynch, including the trading desks, sales, banking, servicing, due diligence and origination businesses.
D’Urso spent 10 years in various positions with Goldman Sachs, including handling distressed loan trading and supervising asset management and servicer surveillance. D’Urso was also chief financial officer of the global mortgage department and head mortgage controller at Goldman Sachs.
