NewDay Financial will provide financial support to Purple Heart Homes, a veteran-operated nonprofit that provides renovations to homes of veterans with service-related disabilities to ensure that properties are safe, comfortable and handicap-accessible.
The initial $25,000 donation by the Fulton, Md.-based nonbank lender will help fund major home renovations for three injured veterans and their caregivers.
Purple Heart Homes is based in Statesville, N.C. and was founded in 2008 by National Guardsmen Dale Beatty and John Gallina, who were both injured in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004.
NewDay Financial originates mortgages insured by the Federal Housing and Veterans administrations, as well as reverse mortgages. It has a relationship as the only preferred mortgage lender of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
