BlackFin Group has hired Ann Pennywitt as EVP of strategic alliances and Dallin Fish as senior lending technology consultant.

Pennywitt brings to BlackFin a 25-year management career in mortgage banking and previously served as a SaaS consultant with Kensie Mae and represented strategic LOS engagements with Ellie Mae.

Fish brings to the company over 10 years of technology consulting experience with a background as a system administrator, project manager and lending technology manager.

Connecticut

Meriden

Planet Home Lending has hired Patrick Couture as senior vice president of servicing platform development.

Couture previously worked at Goldman Sachs, where he was vice president of the realty management division, and at Goldman Sachs Bank where he was vice president of the consumer and investment management division.

He also served with Lone Star Funds/Hudson Advisors, Fairbanks Capital and Nationstar Mortgage.

The Mortgage Bankers Association has named Michael Flood senior vice president of commercial/multifamily policy and member engagement.

Flood joins the MBA from the CRE Finance Council, where he was deputy executive director and head of the Washington office.

Prior to that, he served as the organization's vice president, head of government relations and vice president of policy and economic research.

Illinois

Guaranteed Rate has appointed Joseph Grassi as chief risk officer.

Grassi, whose experience in the industry spans several decades, is responsible for assessing and mitigating potential risks.

Before joining Guaranteed Rate, he spent over 20 years at Fannie Mae as a lead legal advisor, and most recently served as the principal deputy general counsel for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Texas

Mid America Mortgage Inc. has added John Bargas, Donnell Mitchell and Wendy Strawn to its servicing department.

Bargas, who will lead the department as executive managing director, most recently served as director of mortgage servicing at Texas Capital Bank.

Mitchell, with nearly 20 years of experience in loan servicing, comes to Mid America from Rushmore Loan Servicing.

Strawn has over 25 years of experience in customer service and cash operations, including 12 years at Saxon Mortgage.
