New American Funding has named Virginia Martinez as regional sales manager to cover its Southern California market from the Central Coast to Coachella Valley.

She will oversee the daily operations of the region while simultaneously working to expand the territory with the opening of new branches.

Martinez brings to the company more than 25 years of mortgage banking experience.

GEORGIA

AmeriSave Mortgage Corp. said that Robert J. Smith has accepted the company's offer of the position of president, replacing Ed Abufaris who recently announced he was leaving the company.

Smith joined AmeriSave on Nov. 1 and will be appointed president following receipt of necessary regulatory approvals.

Prior to joining AmeriSave, he was the national operations director for BNY Mellon's mortgage group and before that, he was president of Discover Home Loans.

Mortgage Network Inc. said that Sean Doucette has joined company as a mortgage loan officer serving the central Maine area.

Doucette brings more than 15 years of banking and mortgage experience to Mortgage Network.

Most recently, he served as loan originator for Key Bank and prior to that managed Northeast Bank for 10 years.

MICHIGAN

AmeriFirst Home Mortgage, a division of AmeriFirst Financial Corp., has hired Patrick Mars as an area manager and loan officer in its Winter Park, Fla., branch.

Mars brings nearly 20 years of experience to the role, including serving as sales manager at GMAC Mortgage from 1998 to 2008.

He will be charged with growing market share throughout Central Florida while guiding clients throughout the mortgage process.

MISSOURI

LEE'S SUMMIT

Pendo, a nationwide appraisal management company, said that Paul Wholley has been hired as vice president of sales, responsible for leading the company's national sales team.

Wholley joins Pendo after spending the last five years at First American Mortgage Solutions in its national and midmarket division.

In addition, Steve Rouse has joined Pendo's sales team as regional account executive for the Midwest.

He comes to Pendo with more than 25 years of mortgage industry experience after working with companies such as Verus, First American Mortgage Solutions and Credit Suisse.
