Kondaur Capital Corp. appointed Mark Ferrara as managing director of its community banking group.

Ferrara’s role is to develop relationships within the community banking sector nationwide, offering institutions, both large and small, competitive bids for nonperforming portfolio.

Prior to joining Kondaur, he was the president and CEO of North Country Mortgage Banking, a multistate mortgage lender.

From 2008 through 2009, he was a managing director for Silver Bay Advisors, a financial consulting firm formed to assist the San Francisco Federal Home Loan Bank during the initial stages of the nation’s financial crisis.

 

PALO ALTO

Absolute Mortgage Banking appointed Scott Chase as a partner with responsibility for loan origination and expanding Absolute Mortgage Banking's business into strategic Bay Area markets.

Prior to joining Absolute Mortgage Banking, Chase was area sales manager for Western Bancorp, and senior director of sales for technology company Identix.

 

SAN DIEGO

MCT Trading Inc. said that Rhonda Beck has joined the firm as regional sales director for its Charlotte, N.C., office, and will lead the company’s expansion in the Southeast.

Beck brings more than 20 years industry experience to MCT, and most recently was the vice president of mortgage warehousing at Southwest Securities FSB.

She has also held a number of different VP-level positions at IndyMac Bank, and prior to that spent 10 years with CitiMortgage’s correspondent division.

The Independent Community Bankers of America elected its 2011-12 executive committee during the 2011 ICBA National Convention and Techworld in San Diego.

Stephen Benetz has been named president of NRT REOExperts.

In this capacity, he will set the strategic direction for NRT REOExperts and oversee the day-to-day business operations.

With more than 25 years of REO and default management experience, Benetz most recently served as senior vice president of default management for NRT REOExperts.

Prior to joining the company, he held executive level positions at Fidelity National Asset Management, Sterling Technologies, London Bridge Corp., Bearingpoint and GE Capital.

Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund Inc. elected Robert F. Russell as the chairman of its board of directors.

Russell is a partner in the Princeton, Ill., law firm Russell, English, Scoma & Beneke.

In addition, ATG’s new executive committee was voted in October 2010 and includes Ward F. McDonald, vice chairman, Champaign; David S. Dunn, secretary, Bloomington; John G. O’Brien, treasurer, Arlington Heights; and William W. Austin, immediate past chairman, Effingham.

Russell has been a member of ATG’s board of directors since 1995 and also serves as chairman of the board of the Judicial Sales Corp., a subsidiary of ATG.

Webster Bank hired Claudia Piper as senior vice president, commercial real estate.

She brings more than 20 years of experience to the position and prior to joining Webster was a senior vice president at Capmark Finance Inc. for six years.

Piper has also worked in commercial real estate for Key Bank, Corporate Realty Investment Co. and the former Fleet Financial Group, all in Boston.

KGS-Alpha Capital Markets named Mark Noble as head of structured corporate and agency debt and Jim Tymeck as the new head of the finance desk.

Noble joins KGS-Alpha from MF Global, where he was head of agency debt.

Previously, he was a director at Barclays Capital for callable agencies and bullet debt and senior vice president at Lehman Brothers for callable agencies and structured products.

Tymeck brings over 22 years of funding and trading experience to the firm.

Prior to joining KGS-Alpha, he was managing director and head of structured repo trading at Citigroup, as well as managing director for macro proprietary trading at Bank of America.

FORT WORTH

Pamela Morris, a veteran mortgage banker with more than 20 years experience in residential home lending, has joined Colonial National Mortgage as branch manager.

In her new position, Morris will be responsible for opening the company's newest branch in Lakeway, along with recruiting loan officers and generating mortgage loans for the operation.

She comes to Colonial National Mortgage from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in Austin, where she was branch manager.

SEATTLE

The Laird Norton Co. appointed Nick Pavelich, LNC’s chief financial officer, to the expanded role as CFO and senior vice president, real estate investments.

Pavelich was appointed CFO of Laird Norton in 2006 and serves on the board of directors of Laird Norton Wealth Management.

Prior to joining LNC, he was a partner in the accounting firm Clark Nuber, Bellevue, and a director and senior tax manager at KMPG in Seattle.
