Mike Kulick, a mortgage banking veteran with more than 40 years of HUD/FHA experience, has joined the Los Angeles HUD/FHA office of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage.
Kulick, a vice president, will be responsible for originating loans.
He was with Capmark Financial Group Inc., the former owner of Berkadia’s loan origination and servicing businesses for nine years and served as Los Angeles HUD director from 1995 to 1999.

The Conference of State Bank Supervisors named Sandy Sussman as associate general counsel.
In his new role, Sussman will work with the CSBS legal division on a variety of legislative and legal issues, with a focus on Congressional affairs.
Sussman has nearly 10 years of experience on Capitol Hill, working primarily with policymakers on financial issues.
In addition to his time on Capitol Hill, he also served as government affairs director for the Real Estate Services Provider Council.
WASHINGTON
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said that David K. Wilson will become the senior deputy comptroller for bank supervision policy and chief national bank examiner on July 1. He will succeed Tim Long, who will be retiring at the end of June.
In this role, Wilson will chair the agency's committee on bank supervision, direct the formulation of policies and procedures for supervision and examination of national banks, and serve as member of the OCC's executive committee.
He brings nearly 30 years of experience to this role and has held a variety of roles at the OCC including large bank examiner-in-charge, large bank credit team leader, and most recently deputy comptroller for credit and market risk.
Long is retiring after 32 years at the OCC and held a number of positions at the OCC including examiner-in-charge for both Wells Fargo Bank and NationsBank, deputy comptroller for large bank supervision and chief national bank examiner.

NASA Federal Credit Union appointed Andy Stafford to head up its commercial unit as NASA Federal's director of commercial lending.
He will lead the credit union's growth in commercial lending for businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Stafford previously served as the credit union's assistant vice president for business lending.

Credit Suisse hired Roger Lehman as managing director and head of commercial mortgage-backed securities research, responsible for research and analysis that will support the bank's re-entry into CMBS origination as well as its secondary trading desk.
He joins Credit Suisse from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was most recently co-head of structured finance research.
Lehman had been with Merrill Lynch since 1991 in a variety of mortgage trading and research positions.

B of A Merrill Lynch Global Research said that Alan Todd will join the group in August as head of U.S. commercial mortgage-backed securities research.
In this role, Todd will be responsible for generating high-level, relative value and trade specific research recommendations to external and internal clients in both cash and synthetics.
He joins from JPMorgan, where he was head of U.S. CMBS research since 2005 and previously spent five years at Bear Stearns, also in CMBS research.

Edens & Avant hired Ed Senenman as senior vice president, investments.
At Edens & Avant, Senenman's primary responsibilities will include the oversight of strategic portfolio acquisitions as well as one-off transactions particularly in the New York Metro area.
Prior to joining Edens & Avant, he was senior director of acquisitions at Federal Realty and previously served as vice president of acquisitions for Kimco Realty Corp.

Moore & Van Allen said that Christopher Thompson has joined the firm's Charlotte office real estate practice group as an associate.
Thompson has experience representing a wide range of clients, including investors, developers, REITs, affordable housing entities and charter schools, in acquisitions, sales, leasing and financing for an array of real estate transactions.

Timothy McKenna has joined Seagis Property Group as partner and chief financial officer.
Previously, McKenna held the position of CFO at Patriot Equities from 2006-2011, CFO at Preferred Real Estate Investments Inc. from 2004-2006 and CFO of Keystone Property Trust up until the time of its sale to ProLogis in 2004.
Prior to Keystone, he spent 11 years in the real estate group of Arthur Andersen.

1st Service Solutions said that Jeff Spelman has joined the firm as managing director and a member of the 1st Service Solutions and 1st Equi-Debt Solutions management team.
Spelman has 20 years of commercial real estate investment management experience and was previously employed by Hunt Realty Investments as vice president and senior portfolio manager, where he was responsible for creating and implementing strategies for real estate operating companies and underlying assets.
Prior to joining Hunt Realty, he served as director of real estate operations, at Sarofim Realty Advisors.

Mart Martindale, Brandon Beeson and Steven Smith have joined Berkadia’s recently launched investment client services division as senior directors.
Martindale, formerly a senior director with Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc.’s capital markets group, specializes in multifamily dispositions.
Prior, he was a vice president at PM Realty Group.
Beeson, formerly a senior director with Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc.’s Capital Markets Group, focuses on realty services.
Earlier, Beeson was a vice president at PM Realty Group.
Smith was a co-founder and principal of Summit Interests, a diversified investment holding firm that targets private equity investments in the real estate, energy and retail sectors.
