Kinecta Federal Credit Union signed Chris Knox as Northeast regional manager for its wholesale/correspondent mortgage lending operation.
He will oversee the activities of account executives as part of Kinecta's expansion into several Northeast states.
Before joining Kinecta, Knox was vice president, national sales manager for Fifth Third Bancorp where he designed and launched complete wholesale and correspondent channels.
Prior positions include vice president/regional sales manager for Wells Fargo Bank, directing a wholesale operation over a 14-state region, and vice president, channel manager for Integra Mortgage Co.

David Smyle joined Churchill Mortgage Capital in its San Diego office as vice president and director of loan originations.
Previously, his career has included 12 years with Benchmark Financial of La Mesa, Calif., as president and a commercial mortgage banker.
Prior to that, he originated income property loans for two years with Sunrise Mortgage, San Diego.
Smyle also comes to Churchill with a background in commercial banking having performed various commercial real estate and management duties with Great American Bank, International Savings and Girard Savings Bank.

The Collingwood Group hired Tom Cronin as a managing director of the firm.
Cronin, who recently retired from The Clayton Group, a due diligence underwriter, will focus on Collingwood's secondary market initiatives.
He has more than 35 years of industry experience, and has held leadership roles at the Mortgage Bankers Association.
Prior to joining Clayton, Cronin was a managing member of Interactive Mortgage Advisors, Denver, a servicing advisory firm. He also served as vice chairman at Matrix Bancorp.
WASHINGTON
The Mortgage Bankers Association appointed Jeffrey Schummer as vice president of education. In this role, Schummer will be driving the strategic vision, development and growth of MBA's educational programs.
Before joining MBA, he was a servicing relationship manager for single family at the Federal Housing Administration where he supported servicer FHA loss mitigation improvement efforts.
He also served as president of property and casualty at Financial Independence and senior vice president at Wachovia Corp., and also held several management positions at World Savings & Loan in San Antonio.

Kirchmeyer & Associates Inc., a national appraisal, database and real estate appraisal consulting company, hired Shane Copeland as vice president of national sales and Michele Chochrek as national account executive.
Copeland is a veteran in the mortgage industry with more than 18 years of real estate, title insurance, lending and property valuation experience.
In August 2011, Copeland was appointed as interim CEO for San Diego-based AppraiserLoft, and he also held executive sales positions at Stewart Lender Services and ServiceLink/National Lender Solutions.
Chochrek brings 24 years of mortgage lending experience to the firm.
She held the title of vice president of national sales for AppraiserLoft since 2008, and previously held first vice president of vendor management positions with Chochrek Consulting, Indymac Bank and Financial Freedom, and was director of vendor management at Ameriquest Mortgage Co.

Safeguard Properties appointed George Mehok as chief information officer.
Mehok is responsible for all information technology-related resources and assets.
Prior to joining Safeguard, he was chief information officer at Revol Wireless, a privately held CDMA wireless communications provider in Ohio and Indiana.
Mehok also held positions at Verizon Wireless, Electronic Data Systems, Optus Communications and NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Churchill Mortgage promoted Doug Walker to vice president of sales support, where he will support the lender's home loan specialists for all its branches.
Walker has 15 years of industry experience, and has been with Churchill Mortgage since 1997, when he joined as a loan officer.
He became director of sales three years later, and was responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing, customer service, sales support and sales management.

ORIX USA Corp. said that Allan Toole has joined the company as chief risk officer.
As CRO, he will establish risk management to foster the growth objectives of ORIX USA.
Toole has 20 years of experience in risk management, holding similar positions most recently with KKR and Trust Co. of the West in California.

Sperlonga Data and Analytics, a subsidiary of national real estate asset firm Matt Martin Real Estate Management, hired Brent Stokes, a 26-year mortgage industry veteran, for the newly created position of senior vice president.
Stokes has worked for Chase Home Loans, Stewart Title and First American Title in production management and national accounts roles.

Avison Young, Canada's largest independently owned commercial real estate services company, opened a newly formed office in Los Angeles, and said that Neil Resnick joined the company as a principal and will help launch the company's brokerage business in Southern California.
As a member of Avison Young's local executive management team, Resnick will oversee the growth and development of the company's presence in Los Angeles.
Team members include Matthew Wallace as director and Meryl Ong as marketing coordinator.
Wallace will act as a liaison between clients, assisting with strategy and implementation of client initiatives.
Ong will oversee all facets of client coordination and interaction on a day-to-day basis, and be responsible for research and analytical materials.
All three were most recently with Grubb & Ellis in Los Angeles.
