Melchiorre previously led the technology committee at the Hope Now Alliance, the team charged with deploying a technology platform to help the Hope Now consortium's thousands of nonprofit housing counselors and 14 major mortgage servicers communicate and transfer critical borrower loss mitigation documents. Hope LoanPort is that platform and its operation was later established as a standalone nonprofit last year.

In addition to Melchiorre's work on the technology committee, Radian provided a $200,000 donation to LoanPort in Sept. 2010.

Outgoing president and CEO Larry Gilmore previously served as deputy director of the Hope Now Alliance. He is stepping down to pursue other opportunities, according to a Hope LoanPort statement.

Hope LoanPort is a customized, private-labeled version of Columbia, Md.-based technology developer IndiSoft's RxOffice default management platform. For its efforts, IndiSoft was a recipient of the 2010 Mortgage Technology 10X Award, recognizing a company, product or technology application having an exponential impact on mortgage lending. In addition, IndiSoft and Hope LoanPort were named a finalist for the 2011 Mortgage Technology Synergy Award, recognizing technology initiatives and alliances that promote integration of software and processes to promote automation, efficiency and broad mortgage industry use.
