The lowest credit score which is supposedly available for loans to meet the Federal Housing Administration program standards is 580. However, lenders are free to put their own overlays on the program and set their own minimum level.
FB_Tiger works at a regional mortgage bank which apparently brokers out its FHA applications. It had been working with a wholesaler who was willing to do loans with a 620 minimum. That is no longer available and the lowest minimum from any wholesaler the bank is working with is 640.
Based on the response, there are still FHA-approved lenders still willing to do 620 loans. Read more at
