Tannery Brook, Cortview Team up On CRE

Tannery Brook Partners, a commercial real estate investment banking firm based in Charlotte, N.C., is joining up with Cortview Capital Securities LLC, Richmond, Va., to form a new commercial real estate platform to enhance the latter firm's product offerings.

Bill Green, the founder of Tannery Brook and the former head of the commercial real estate business at Wachovia Securities, will run Cortview's commercial real estate finance and capital markets platform. He will report to Bill Cameron, head of structured products at Cortview.

He formed Tannery Brook in 2009 with four other former Wachovia employees: Bill Cohane, Chuck Wolter, Christopher Troutman and Brett Smith. These four are also joining Cortview. The team has been together for 15 years and has done $184 billion in transactions.

Their experience includes commercial real estate investment banking, debt and equity principal investing, mortgage loan origination and placement, commercial mortgage and collateralized debt securitization, merger and acquisition advisory, loan servicing and asset and property management.

Cortview Capital Securities opened in September 2010 and offers fixed income sales, trading and origination services. It is a portfolio company of private equity firm Warburg Pincus.
