The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs awarded contracts to Matt Martin Real Estate Management in Frisco, Texas, and Waterman Steele Real Estate Advisors in Houston to help the state agency handle its real estate portfolio.
TDHCA awarded the two-year contracts March 27 after a request for proposal process. MMREM will be the primary firm responsible for the disposition and liquidation work while Waterman Steele will handle any overflow, according to TDHCA public information officer Gordon Anderson.
"Both Matt Martin and Waterman Steele submissions were strong in the relevant experience categories and provided competitive fee structures that mutually benefit all parties involved for these transactions," Anderson told National Mortgage News.
The firms will help the department create disposition and liquidation strategies for its single- and multi-family portfolios. The state agency acquired the real estate assets in question through its housing finance support programs.
