The United Kingdom's LNR Property Holdings Ltd. has completed the initial closing of a fund focused exclusively on European investment opportunities for real-estate-related debt and commercial mortgage-backed securities.The company said it expects the fund, LNR Europe Investors, to have total equity commitments of £360 million (approximately $690 million) in place soon. With anticipated leverage, the fund will have up to £900 billion (about $1.7 billion) of total purchasing capacity, LNR Property Holdings reported. LNR is the fund's lead investor and also has contributed an initial portfolio of investments to it. A team led by Scott Goedken, LNR's European investment director, will be responsible for sourcing and executing investment opportunities on behalf of the fund and its investors.
