Now is a great time to reach out to your 2013 clients by mail.  Send them a copy of their settlement statements for tax purposes. I am adding a new thing into my letters this year and asking for referrals for both me and the Realtor. Then I am sending an email to each Realtor letting them know I have done this.

Content for the letter to your client:

    Thank you for the opportunity to help with the mortgage financing on your new home in 2012. For your convenience, enclosed is a copy of your HUD settlement statement. You may want to take this to your tax preparer when you do your taxes, as some of the costs associated with buying a home may be tax deductible.

    Security Home Mortgage is one of the leading lenders in Utah, and as your personal loan officer, I want to continue to service all your mortgage needs. I appreciate the loyalty and support of friends and customers and will constantly work to serve you better.

    For years (name of Realtor) and I have based our business on the fact that the highest compliment we can receive is a referral from a friend. Your referrals are greatly appreciated. Please pass along our names to your friends and family.

    Every January, I send a letter to my clients from the previous year along with a copy of their settlement statements for tax purposes.

    My goal is to help you grow your business and I know how important it is to you that we cultivate future referrals from our past clients. I took the liberty to remind our joint clients (NAME) that you are always available to help any of their friends and family who are in need of our services. Hopefully this results in more business for you in 2014.
