Ditech Returns to Wholesale Originations

Walter Investment Management Corp. subsidiary Ditech Financial has relaunched a wholesale lending channel.

The Fort Washington, Pa., lender said Tuesday that it has started fielding broker applications. The company cited its infrastructure and experience as factors in its decision to expand into the area.

In February 2014, when Ditech was operating under the Green Tree brand after its purchase by Walter, it exited the wholesale business.

Brokers that do business through Ditech's new channel will have access to automated notifications, training, custom reporting and other products and services.

"Launching a wholesale channel is an important milestone for the company," Ditech President David Schneider said in a news release. "With the success of our correspondent lending division, this was a logical next step for us to continue expanding our market presence."

This isn't the first time Ditech has shaken up its business line this year. In January, the lender announced it would exit the distributed retail mortgage production channel.
