Quicken Switches Auto Racing Sponsorship to Kahne, Hendrick

Quicken Loans will be the primary sponsor for Kasey Kahne of Hendrick Motorsports for three races during the 2016 NASCAR season. During the remainder of the Sprint Cup schedule, the company will be an associate sponsor on the No. 5 car.

This means the mortgage lender is ending its four-year relationship as a primary sponsor of Ryan Newman, who drove the past two years for Richard Childress Racing and the two years prior for Newman-Haas. Quicken Loans had been a primary sponsor on 12 races for Newman.

One of Quicken Loans' primary sponsorship races will include a joint promotion with Hendrick Automotive Group, the largest privately held operator of auto dealerships in the United States.

Kahne finished 18th in the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup standings, while Newman finished 11th and was a participant in the Chase, the end of season playoff for the top level of stock car racing.

This is not Hendrick Racing's first sponsorship deal with a mortgage lender. From 2003 to 2005, Ditech — at the time a subsidiary of GMAC — was a sponsor of several Hendrick teams.
