Wells Fargo adds Reed Jordan as program manager

Multinational financial services company Wells Fargo named Reed Jordan as housing affordability philanthropy grants program manager. Jordan will be focused on social impact transformation and innovation in regards to housing affordability policies.

Jordan will be based in the New York office and came over from the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development Office of Policy and Strategy. His previous experience includes stops at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development and the Urban Institute Research Action Lab and Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center.

Homepoint brings on Noelle Lipscomb as CAE

Mortgage originator and servicer Homepoint appointed Noelle Lipscomb as its chief audit executive, overseeing the internal financial, operational and compliance controls. Lipscomb came with over 20 years in the mortgage industry, including 17 at Fannie Mae.

“Noelle’s understanding of the mortgage space will be instrumental in advising Homepoint on risk management and providing insight into our business operations and processes as our company continues to expand as a public entity,” said Homepoint CEO Willie Newman. Based in Ann Arbor, Mich., the company employs over 6,000 mortgage brokers and correspondent partners.

Retail lender Guaranteed Rate expanded its diversity, equity and inclusion team with a pair of new positions. It added Valenthia Doolin as community outreach manager and Turquoise Peart as manager of DE&I. Doolin will promote financial literacy and homeownership awareness through partnerships with grassroots organizations across the country. Peart will promote a diverse culture within Guaranteed Rate and externally with recruiting and outreach training initiatives.

"People need to know, 'We see you and we are here to serve your communities. We are closely examining the data to identify how we can best affect real change," Doolin said. Headquartered in Chicago, Guaranteed Rate has over 850 offices and 10,000 workers across the U.S.

RoundPoint Mortgage revamps c-suite

Roundpoint Mortgage, a subsidiary of Freedom Mortgage, announced a trio of changes to its leadership team. The originator, servicer, and subservicer appointed Patrick McEnerney as chief executive officer, Joseph M. Gormley as chief administrative officer, and Scott Bristol as executive vice president of retail lending.

"RoundPoint is currently building a national production platform and is on track to become a major subservicer. Together [with Joe and Scott], we will carry on RoundPoint's history of providing exceptional customer service, while expanding the business model in new directions and ensuring our employees have the resources they need to succeed," McEnerney said.

Plaza Home creates co-presidents, promotes CFO

Plaza Home Mortgage made a pair of big moves to its executive team, naming Michael Fontaine as co-president — splitting the role with Kevin Parra — and Michelle Richardson as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Fontaine’s been with Plaza for 17 years and was the previous CFO, Richardson joined in 2019 with prior experience at loanDepot, Icon Residential and IMPAC Mortgage.

“The new leadership roles reflect Plaza’s strong growth and evolution. I’m especially pleased to recognize the impressive achievements of Mike Fontaine and look forward to his continued contributions,” said Parra, Plaza’s co-founder, CEO and chairman. Established in San Diego in 2000, the company offers Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA and reverse mortgage programs through its wholesale and correspondent lending channels.

Waterstone opens new branch, names area manager

Waterstone Mortgage launched a new branch in Jacksonville, Fla., and announced Steve Strother will be the area manager. Strother has over 30 years of industry experience with previous roles at Southland Mortgage, Lehman Brothers, and VyStar Credit Union.

“With his impressive experience in the mortgage industry and his extensive knowledge of the Jacksonville real estate market, Steve will make an excellent addition to our Florida leadership team,” said Dustin Owen, Waterstone’s southeast regional vice president. Based in Pewaukee, Wisc., and founded in 2000, Waterstone lends in 48 states.

Incenter Appraisal Management announced the promotion of Mark Walser to president. Walser joined the national appraisal company less than a year ago as executive vice president and led the launch of a 24-hour payment cycle program.

Lenderworks brings on Andrew Peters as president

Lenderworks, a provider of back-office mortgage services based in Fairfax, Va., announced the hiring of Andrew Peters to be its new president. Peters came over from Fannie Mae and joins with 25 years of mortgage experience. He’ll implement growth strategies and expansion of the company within housing.

“We are entering a unique market scenario, and a number of trends suggest that many small to mid-sized lenders are seeking to do what they do best—sell and produce loans—without being stifled by complex infrastructure requirements and a spider web of technology offerings,” Peters said.

Cherry Creek promotes Sheridan Whipple to VP

Denver’s Cherry Creek Mortgage promoted Sheridan Whipple to vice president of business analysis after five years with the company, previously leading a team within the advanced technology unit.

“Sheridan is a unique talent at Cherry Creek — a role model and mentor to others who is detail-oriented while always being able to see the bigger picture,” said Darren Shaffer, Cherry Creek’s chief technology officer. Cherry Creek was founded in 1987 and offers FHA, conventional and jumbo purchase and refinance mortgages across more than 70 retail branches.

Sprout appoints Laura LaRaia to executive suite

Sprout Mortgage added Laura LaRaia as executive vice president, general counsel, and chief compliance officer. LaRaia will oversee all legal and regulatory compliance issues at the non-QM lender based in East Meadow, N.Y.
