Fidelity National Financial had the largest percentage gain among Mortgage Industry Equity Composite stocks on Tuesday as the Federal Trade Commission approved its purchase of Lender Processing Services. The only condition for the deal calls for FNF to divest itself of six title plants in Oregon.

The title company closed nearly 3% higher than its Monday close. Tuesday was a shortened session because of Christmas Eve.

MGIC Investment Corp. closed 1.2% higher while Hudson City Bancorp was 0.9% higher. MIEC gainers outpaced losers 11 to six.
