Dino Lack, a 21-year veteran in the mortgage technology space, will lead Union Home's efforts to improve the lending experience through advanced workflow automation and artificial intelligence integration, the company said in a press release.

"We believe that the future of mortgage banking is in the partnership of a talented workforce and sophisticated automation, and Dino's unique abilities will be a tremendous asset in achieving that balance," CEO Bill Cosgrove said in the release.

Lack worked for multiple of the industry's top lenders throughout his career. He served as Newrez's chief information officer for almost two years, Caliber Home Loans' chief product officer for nearly two years and LoanDepot's senior vice president of product management for three years. Lack also worked for CoreLogic and Wells Fargo, according to his LinkedIn.

Most recently, Lack spent more than two years as executive vice president of technology at Xpanse, an AI-driven company focused on improving automation for mortgage lenders.

"I am thrilled to join Union Home at a time when we are laser-focused on empowering our partners," Lack said. "Our goal isn't just to implement technology for technology's sake; it's to bring tools to our human workforce that allow them to work smarter, not harder. By automating the routine, we empower our people to focus on what they do best: building relationships and delivering world-class service."

Union Home made two other significant hires earlier this year. The lender tapped Renee Hildebrand as national vice president of mergers and acquisitions. In the role, Hildebrand will seek opportunities for organizations to join Union Home while preserving the lender's culture and service, it said. Union Home welcomed George Dover as vice president of manufactured and new construction lending as well.

The lender also added to its c-suite in November, appointing Ann Aber as its new chief legal officer, a role in which Aber will examine potential risk factors and the company's growth strategy, Union Home said.

Union Home has been involved in a few lawsuits lately. The lender was hit with five class action complaints last year over a data breach in June. It also sued a married couple last August for allegedly taking confidential client information to a new employer.
