For the past two quarters, Great Western Financial Services has been ranked No. 1; it failed to make the list this quarter. For the third quarter running, Pacific Beneficial Mortgage Co. is rated No. 2.
The remainder of the list includes Affinity Mortgage LLC, Mortgage Loans for Texas, Americash, BNC National Bank, Mid America Mortgage, Integrated Financial Group Inc., Mortgage Lenders of America and Sunwest Direct Mortgage.
A LendingTree spokeswoman explained that these firms, most of whom are correspondent lenders, place an emphasis on customer service and they also ask the borrower to fill out the LendingTree company review site.
They also do most of their originations online and have lower overhead, resulting in lower costs to the borrower, she said.
The list is created on a weighted average of review ratings and on the volume of customer reviews.
Consumers rate their lender on rates, fees and closing costs, responsiveness, customer service and overall experience.
