The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.13% for the week,
The five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 2.95% this week, unchanged from a week ago.
"Uncertainty about the economy helped drive down Treasury yields early in the week, and thus mortgage rates fell 7 basis points to 3.91%, the lowest level since June 4," Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac's chief economist, said in a news release.
The figures are derived from Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey.
