Keep Your Clients Coming Back for More

Whoever writes the copy for the Blondie comic strip has to have a marketing and motivation background. Once again, this strip has some marketing advice that is dead on for any person in a sales position, let alone a mortgage originator.

The strip I am referring to ran on July 31 and the main plot involves Dagwood’s favorite lunch counter tying their offerings to an Olympics theme (this is not the marketing lesson I am talking about).

In the final panel, as Dagwood leaves to go back to work, he says, “it may not be the greatest food, but they give all they’ve got to keep you coming back.”

How many loan originators can say that they give all they have got to help their clients so that their clients keep coming back (or refer their friends) to them?

Have you gone that extra mile for your clients if need be to make them happy?

With so many outlets for your clients to spread the word, that extra effort you give—even if the transaction is not as successful as you would have liked—could be the difference between a positive review in the social media or a negative one. And those negative reviews can drive potential clients far way.

It is not the food that keeps Dagwood going back but the effort that the cook/owner gives.
