Stonegate Mortgage to Expand Consumer Direct Office in Arizona

Stonegate Mortgage will expand its consumer-direct operations in Scottsdale, Ariz., with plans to add about 50 employees.

Stonegate will hire mortgage advisers, operations staff and office support personnel for the Scottsdale office, according to a news release. Stonegate is expanding the office due to advances in technology and changes in customers' priorities.

"While convenience is top of mind for millennial customers, efficiency and accuracy are also key priorities," Tim Elkins, head of Stonegate's consumer-direct division, said in the release.

Stonegate is expanding its consumer-direct and online operations as mortgage lenders try to find ways to counter the decline in the refinance market.
