TRI Pointe Group and imortgage Launch New Originator

Homebuilding company TRI Pointe Group and nonbank national retail mortgage lender imortgage have partnered to create a new origination business.

Called TRI Pointe Connect, the new business will serve TRI Point Group's six brands, the companies said in a press release Monday. The service started operations in Arizona and Washington, with plans to expand to six more states.

TRI Pointe Connect will initially act as the in-house mortgage originator for Maracay Homes, the release said.

"With the imortgage headquarters located in Scottsdale, it made sense for Maracay Homes to be one of the first TRI Pointe Group builders to roll out this service, which will offer one of the most streamlined buying experiences available in the market today, matching individual homebuyers with specific loan services that meet their unique needs," Macaray Homes president Andy Warren said in the release.

At its start, TRI Pointe Connect will employ a team of mortgage loan consultants on-site in Phoenix and Tucson, offering Maracay customers a wide portfolio of mortgage products.

TRI Pointe Connect's launch comes less than a year after Maracay Homes and four other homebuilders merged with Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Co. to form TRI Pointe Group, making the Irvine, Calif.-based company one of the top 10 largest public homebuilders by market capitalization in the U.S.
