Fannie Mae has recruited Susan R. McFarland to be the company's new chief financial officer.

She previously worked at Capital One, Tyson Corners, Va., as executive vice president for finance and principal accounting officer. Before joining Capital One, McFarland spent 16 years at Bank One.
"She has a proven record of accomplishment in consumer and retail financial services," Fannie president and chief executive Michael Williams said.
"Susan is an outstanding addition to our management team as we continue to strengthen Fannie Mae's business and position the company to most effectively serve the market in the future," the CEO said.
