John Robbins, the former chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association, has yet another new mortgage banking venture up and running.
Bexil American Mortgage has begun originating loans on both a wholesale and retail basis. The wholesale channel operates under the name American Mortgage Network, which is the name used by Robbins' last company.
Robbins is CEO and president of Bexil. Besides AmNet, he was CEO of ICA Mortgage and American Residential Mortgage.
In a press release, Robbins comments that Bexil American's startup is slightly ahead of schedule and under budget.
He first announced his return to running a mortgage company at last October's MBA convention in Chicago.
The statement adds the company's management team has worked together in creating mortgage banking startups over the last 26 years.
